Nokia has introduced a new Asha series terminal Asha 210, it features a physical QWERTY keyboard and a shortcut button to the application Whatsapp, which makes this terminal an ideal device to keep users connected to their friends and contacts.
The Finnish company on its official blog published an image of some details of a new terminal earlier this week that would come on Wednesday. The image shows a new smartphone with physical QWERTY keyboard and a direct access button to WhatsApp. Following to these assumptions Nokia has announced its new Asha 210 device designed to make the user experience more social at an affordable price.
According to the company the new Asha 210 features a 2.4-inch LCD screen of QVGA display with the resolution of 320 x 240 pixels in full four-row physical QWERTY keyboard that helps make typing messages faster for the user which makes the social experience of this phone, superior to others. It supports Wi-Fi connectivity and is the first handset that has a shortcut button to the instant messaging application WhatsApp. To celebrate this union Whatsapp offers a free account for the owners of these devices.
“We are focused on providing the best experience of WhatsApp as possible,” said Brian Acton, co-founder of WhatsApp. “We are excited about our partnership with Nokia Asha to complement our strategy to give people an easy experience to maintain contact with their friends around the world.”
“The Nokia Asha 210 stands out for giving consumers super-social, new ways to express your personality through the design, color and device innovations as the first button WhatsApp” said Nokia executive vice president of Latin America, Timo Toikkanen. “The new Asha 210 is also combined with Facebook, Twitter and email accounts like Gmail. It is designed to allow people to easily update your social networks, make contact with your friends and share their content.”
The Nokia Asha 210 also leverages the browser Nokia Xpress that by using cloud technology from Nokia allows users to enjoy Internet access getting that consumes up to 90 percent less data. It also has the Nearby application which allows the users to discover the sights around them as restaurants or shops.
The screen size of Nokia Asha 210 is 6.1-cm and the weight is 99.5-grams. The Nokia Asha 210 can have up to two different SIM cards embedded in it and through EasySwap technology you can switch from one SIM to another without turning off the smartphone. It supports Bluetooth 2.1+EDR along with MicroUSB. It has a 32-MB of RAM which you can increase up to 32-GB via microSD card.
It has a 2-MP rear camera with a physical direct button to access it in the top of the keyboard. You can capture both photos and videos in 1600×1200 pixels resolution, edit and exchange through various options such as self-portrait, where the phone will guide the user through voice commands so that the image will appear centered.

The Asha 210 carries a Li-Ion 1200-mAh battery that lasts for 46 days, if you use only Single SIM and a maximum of 24 days to use with Dual-Sim cards. It will be available in five different colors Yellow, Cyan, White, Black and Magenta and its price estimate is $72 and is expected to start distributing in the second quarter of 2013.
